Port Hudson Field is situated approximately 15 miles north of Baton Rouge, La. The field was acquired by JP Oil in the early 1990s. These wells were in the middle of a deep Tuscaloosa Field operated by a major oil company and were acquired by JP Oil due to the lack of interest in these Wilcox wells by the major company. There are three producers in Port Hudson Field, with two of the producers currently producing 50 b/d with no gas production. Plans are to return to production the third well in the field to increase production by 25 - 30 b/d.
